Definition of "Commissioners Standard Ordinary Mortality Table (CSO)"

A group of mortality tables that have been approved by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) that are used by insurance companies to calculate the minimum nonforfeiture values and policy reserves for cash value life insurance policies.
